SCBWI Ireland member and author Patricia Forde has a new picture book coming out this month. As well as the book launch, she is participating in a number of events to encourage reading and writing for young children.
On Tuesday, December 4th, 2012, in Ennis, County Clare, Trish talks to teachers about the Write A Book project in primary schools. It’s a great project as it encourages even the youngest children to enjoy the pleasure of writing their very own book.
On December 7th, Trish reads as part of a Pop-Up shop in the Galway City Museum. This event is organised by Foras Na Gaeilge and the Arts Council to promote Irish literature in the weeks leading up to Christmas. All are welcome and the event is free.
On December 16th, Trish reads in English and in Irish at the Village Bookshop in Moycullen. All are welcome. Admission is free and will suit children aged 4 to 7.
Patricia Forde lives in Galway and has written a number of books for children, in both English and Irish. For more information, visit her website: http://www.patriciaforde.com/
