Kieran Mark Crowley guest speaker at next SCBWI Ireland meet-up in Cork

3:00 pm to 5:00 pm AT bISHOPSTOWN lIBRARY

All writers and illustrators of children’s books are welcome to attend. We will be meeting in the upstairs room at Bishopstown Library in Cork.

You’re welcome to share this event with any children’s book writers or illustrators who might be interested. You don’t have to be a SCBWI member to attend.

Tea and coffee provided by the library, plus a few treats may be provided by participants.

Special guest speaker: Author Kieran Mark Crowley

Kieran will read from his published works and may grant us a sneak peek at his work-in-progress. He will also talk about his writing process and his experience of the using the traditional publishing route.

Author bio

Kieran (Mark) Crowley is a children’s writer from Mallow, Co. Cork. His debut novel, Colm & the Lazarus Key, was nominated for the CBI (formerly Bisto) Book of the Year Award in 2010. The follow-up book, Colm & The Ghost’s Revenge, was published by Mercier Press in 2012. Kieran also writes reviews for Inis, the children’s books magazine, and currently has a screenplay in development for a children’s television series. He has worked for a variety of companies including Aer Lingus and Fed Ex.
